1981 İsveç doğumlu olan, şimdilerde Londra'da yaşayan Lina Scheynius aynı zamanda video işleri de üreten ilginç bir isim. Pek çok kuzeyli fotoğrafçı gibi eserlerinde utanması sıkılması olmayan bir kişiliği var. Kurallarının olmadığını söyleyen Scheynius kişisel yaşantısını da sanatının bir parçası haline getirmiş.

Kendisiyle 3ayak.org için yaptığım (henüz Türkçe'ye çeviremediğim haliyle) minik bir röportaj:
1. What do you think about photography?
For me it's a way of storing or creating moments.
But photography can obviously be used for a million different things. And I like that.
2. What was your first camera? first idea?
My first camera was a point and shoot camera that my dad picked out. I was 10 so I guess he chose it because it was cheap and easy to use and not too easy to break. My first photos are of my parents. and of my feet.
3. You've got an interesting style in your art…
Thank you! My photographic style is something I have developed from experimenting over the years and it is something that I am still developing. I almost never use a flash or a digital camera, but I sometimes do that too. I have no rules. I just capture things I find beautiful or interesting.
4. How to capture feeling in photography?
Oh I think that is very individual, and not something I can answer.
5. Where do you take photos? What do you use for?
I take most of my photos when i am at home or when I travel. I take photos of people close to me and a lot of self portraits when I am alone. I mainly do it for myself because i get enjoyment out of it. Lately I have also done it a little bit for magazines. Exit magazine for example.
6. What artists do you like? Who inspires you?
I love filmmakers and painters and musicians and writers. Egon Schiele has been one of my favourite artists for a long time and I love Bergman.
In general I get more inspiration from the people and the world around me than from big artists whom I have never met though. I am impressed by people who constantly challenge themselves, the people around them and their own fears. Pretty much regardless of how they do it.
7. Are you a classic photographer or a contemporary?
I find it hard to even label myself a photographer so I wouldn't be able to add anything more to that. Not yet anyway.
8. Are all of your works is a project?
Everything I do is like one giant project. It's all a personal experiment.
